So living in the South, you know I have heard some dumb songs. You may also know that I love dumb shit. So with that in mind, I have decided to make a weekly post of the most ignorant rap "songs"... which shouldn't be hard these days. PYLON - COOL (PRINCE KLASSEN EDIT)


I have been wanting to do this for some time now, and I think I got it right. This song comes off the Gyrate reissue that DFA put out maybe two years ago. Pylon was one of the most overlooked bands of the time period that managed to influence bands that were to become huge including U2 and The B-52s. And the year that seems to keep resurfacing throughout my life, 1983, is the year they broke up the first time around.

TOKYO!



I have been wanting to post this for some time now, but have managed to completely forget about it every time. Michel Gondry and comp have managed to take my breath away once again. Tokyo! is a triptych film tribute to... well, Tokyo. There is not much to go by other than the trailer, but I am almost positive this will be one of my favorite movies of the year. WIYL Paris, je t'aime.

Also, I read somewhere that the Drafthouse will be screening the film before national release.
