My dude Eleven (along with dj mOma) just put this tape out on the interwebs recently and I was surprised to see one of my edits on there. I am getting more info from the man himself to see what the deal is with the tape. So far alls I can say is the mix jams on both ends, and I am proud to be on it! BIRTHDAY PARTY WITH TREASURE FINGERS



As some of you know, my birthday was this past weekend on Feb 6th and this year I managed to bring a homie, Mr. Treasure Fingers of Fools Gold Records. I set up the RSVP list for the event and let me say I could not be more happy with the turn out. I was trying some lighting techniques with my newly acquired Flip Mino HD, so here is what you get. There were about five videos I shot, but this one is the best.

It seems like this winter the mood has shifted here in Texas. Two of the homies have put out (hehe put out) mixes of slow jams that are both cocoa butter smooth and a good change up from the usual relentless club banging stuff I am forced to hear these days.
Dj Sober, of The Party out of Dallas, put his out a few weeks ago that I finally got around to listening to the other day. Satin Sheets is the name, and I wish it came with some cuz these 1000 ct Egyptian cotton joints just are not cutting it anymore.

The second mix was surprisingly done by my good homie DJ Mel. He still has not told me happy birthday, but dude is weird either way. This mix makes up for it. He takes on an alias, Mel Cavaricci, and just as nice as those jeans were in 80s, this mix compliments the wing tips and satin shirts. The Motel Mix has the feel of one of those leave the military base and get someone pregnant type nights. Enjoy...

DRE DAY 2009

My dude Mike 2600 is at it again with his err.. notorious *ahem* ode to the West Coast mainstay, at one point jheri curl having, shiny suit wearing, LA Kings hat sporting, white boy rapper finding, beat producer extraordinaire, DR DRE!!! Dre Day is a celebration of all things west coast, g-funk, and Dre related. Mike the 2600 King is the mastermind behind the event that includes trivia games, a fridge full of 40's, and some of the greatest music ever made in rap history. Since the initial inception there have been other Dre Days popping up all over the country, but this pays tribute to the original Minnesota jump off. If you are in the MN this Feb 14th, be sure to put on your locs and cortez' and make your way down to DRE DAY 09.
